TAT issues travel advisory for Bangkok amid heavy rain

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has issued an advisory for visitors and travelers in Bangkok and its vicinity on September 26, 2026, warning that ongoing heavy rainfall and localized flooding in certain areas may disrupt road travel and cause delays for those heading to airports, transport hubs, and other destinations.

Travelers are strongly advised to allocate extra travel time and depart earlier than originally scheduled. Prior to setting off, individuals should check real-time weather, traffic conditions, and public transit updates, while considering alternative routes or transportation methods where feasible.

Both major airports, Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) and Don Mueang International Airport (DMK), continue to operate normally. However, road access to and from both terminals may experience disruptions due to heavy downpours, localized flooding, and traffic congestion, prompting recommendations for passengers to verify flight statuses directly with airlines.

For Suvarnabhumi Airport, primary access roads remain open, though passengers are specifically advised to steer clear of the Lat Krabang route due to significant waterlogging, and instead utilize Motorway No. 7 or the Burapha Withi Expressway. The airport recommends arriving at least three hours prior to international flights and two hours before domestic departures.
