Suchart: PM orders urgent hunt for 4 escaped crocodiles

On September 25, 2026, Mr. Suchart Chomklin, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, announced an emergency operation regarding controlled animals escaping their enclosures in Sa Kaeo province. This dangerous situation stems from severe widespread flooding affecting the region, with confirmed reports of four crocodiles breaking out into the open floodwaters.

The incident has caused immense panic among local residents as the high flood levels allow the predators to move around freely. Initial reports pinpointed the sighting area around Golden Place Nava Farm, located in Moo 6, Khao Chakhan subdistrict, Khao Chakhan district, Sa Kaeo province, which is currently submerged by overflowing water.

Mr. Suchart stated that Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, currently on an official mission abroad, received urgent briefings and expressed grave concern for public safety. The Prime Minister issued immediate instructions during the afternoon to relevant agencies to mobilize forces and secure all four crocodiles as quickly as possible to prevent fatal incidents.

Regarding the physical characteristics of the escaped reptiles, reports indicate that each crocodile measures approximately 2 meters in length, presenting a serious threat and sufficient strength to harm humans. The severity of the flood surge has paralyzed daily life, forcing some villagers in the area to seek refuge by climbing up high trees while awaiting rescue teams.
