- Cabinet approves special holidays for September 28-29 with banks and capital markets operating normally.
- Deep concern over Kanchanaburi flooding prompts plans to launch an emergency war room tomorrow.
Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, addressed the Cabinet's resolution approving September 28-29 as special holidays, stating that the measure was carefully considered to balance public holiday management with overall economic momentum.
However, to prevent any disruption to the financial sector, a clear exemption has been established. During these special holidays, financial institutions, commercial banks, and capital markets will remain open and operate as usual to ensure continuous business transactions and public services.

In addition to the holiday announcement, Mr. Anutin expressed serious concern regarding the ongoing flood situation in Kanchanaburi province, where rising water levels threaten local residential areas and agricultural lands.
Consequently, the Ministry of Interior and relevant agencies are scheduled to open an emergency command war room tomorrow. This facility will closely monitor water flows, coordinate relief efforts, and accelerate drainage operations in the affected zones as swiftly as possible.
This round of special holidays highlights the government's effort to stimulate domestic tourism and spending while carefully safeguarding the macroeconomic framework by keeping financial markets operational. Meanwhile, the flood crisis in Kanchanaburi demands urgent, centralized coordination through a war room to mitigate risks to local residents and property.
