The Compasso d'Oro International Design Award 2027 has officially opened its doors for submissions from creators worldwide, inviting participants to explore connection, participation, and imagination through play. This platform builds upon a rich history of international exhibitions tied to World Expos since Milan 2015.
Solidified by a ten-year Memorandum of Understanding between ADI and the BIE to accompany major Expos through 2035, the platform grants participants extraordinary exposure on the international stage.

Conceived by Gio Ponti in 1954 and managed by ADI since 1958, the Compasso d'Oro holds a prestigious position in design culture. On May 24, 2027, an international jury will select outstanding projects, conferring 20 Compasso d'Oro awards alongside up to 50 honourable mentions.
The award ceremony will also grant up to three International Career Awards to non-Italian designers, institutions, companies, and schools that have significantly advanced global design culture.
As one of the oldest and most respected accolades in industrial design, Compasso d'Oro's long-term integration with World Expos highlights a strategic shift toward bringing avant-garde design solutions into massive public platforms, bridging playfulness with industrial innovation.
Selected finalists will be showcased inside a dedicated Compasso d'Oro pavilion within the Best Practices area at Expo 2027 Belgrade until August 15, 2027, surrounded by six thematic weeks of public programming and interactive installations.
Following the exposition, all awarded works will permanently enter the ADI Compasso d'Oro Historical Collection at the ADI Design Museum in Milan, turning contemporary recognition into a lasting legacy.
