Tawee Opens Halal Kitchen to Help Ramkhamhaeng Floods

On September 28, 2026, Pol. Col. Tawee Sodsong, list-MP and leader of the Prachachat Party, accompanied by his son Rawit Sodsong, visited flood-affected neighborhoods in the Ramkhamhaeng area of Bangkok. The visit aimed to monitor severe inundation and deliver immediate relief supplies to local residents and delivery workers struggling with flooded streets and homes.
The delegation first stopped at the Mini Plaza @ 59 food center located in Soi Ramkhamhaeng 59, where a temporary halal kitchen had been established. The facility was urgently cooking fresh meals to be packaged and delivered to families trapped in flooded zones who were unable to prepare food on their own.

This community-driven kitchen initiative was spearheaded by Ms. Waralak Srisa-ard, also known as Jufah, Deputy Leader of the Prachachat Party and owner of Muslim Home at Mini Plaza @ 59. She was joined by volunteers from the Prachachat network, the Ramkhamhaeng Prachachat group, and local residents who volunteered their time to cook and transport meals into flooded alleys.
Establishing a localized halal kitchen during a natural disaster is a critical measure for ensuring that Muslim communities have immediate access to dietary-compliant food when standard supply chains break down. Grassroots collaboration between local politicians and community leaders often proves most effective in delivering rapid humanitarian aid during urban flooding crises.
During the visit, Pol. Col. Tawee contributed essential supplies to support the kitchen's operations, including 7 bags of rice and a large quantity of drinking water. The relief effort also specifically targeted delivery riders, who faced hazardous conditions navigating flooded roads while trying to maintain their livelihoods.
Following the stop at Mini Plaza, Pol. Col. Tawee's team proceeded to Soi Ramkhamhaeng 81, guided by Mr. Somsak Phrayigek, a representative from the Darul Quran Center of Ramkhamhaeng 81. They waded through affected areas to distribute cooked meals and bottled water directly to large crowds of residents waiting for assistance, while also handing out additional bags of rice.
