Things heated up at Molineux as Wolves striker Tolu Arokodare caused a training session to be abruptly canceled after he refused to walk off the pitch, with sources indicating he deliberately joined a session he was not named in.
Previously, Wolves received a transfer bid for the player from Fiorentina which was rejected, while the club accepted an alternative offer from Turkish side Trabzonspor instead, sparking a dispute over the forward's future.
Meanwhile, Arokodare posted a message on social media late Wednesday to clarify his stance, insisting that he has always acted with utmost professionalism throughout his career and remains bound by his contract with Wolves. He expressed his commitment to fulfilling his duties in training and helping his teammates despite the ongoing controversy.
This conflict serves as a major test for new manager Peixoto, who took over from Rob Edwards last month. The 46-year-old coach's primary goal is to guide Wolves straight back to the Premier League at the first attempt following their relegation.
Arokodare joined Wolves for a fee of 24 million pounds from Genk last summer but scored only 3 league goals in a season that saw Wolves finish bottom of the Premier League table and suffer relegation. Furthermore, he was previously subjected to disciplinary action in April following an altercation with young teammate and striker Matheus Mane.
