Elon Musk's AI Grokipedia resumes article updates
SpaceXAI's AI-powered online encyclopedia Grokipedia is updating articles again following a pause that lasted for several months.

Grokipedia, the AI-driven online encyclopedia platform developed by SpaceXAI, has begun showing signs of life and is once again updating various articles after remaining dormant for a period of several months. Back in August, a report by Lawfare pointed out that pages across the platform had not undergone any editorial reviews or edits since the month of April.
Despite the prolonged inactivity, the platform's live update tracker now reflects a series of recent modifications made to multiple pages. However, at the time of reporting, many of these pages still prominently feature a brief advisory note instructing editors to recheck all references and source materials.

The site's return to activity appears to have kicked off quite recently. For instance, the profile page dedicated to former US President Barack Obama displays a timestamp noting it was fact-checked by Grok two days prior, while the page for Elon Musk underwent fact-checking within the span of an hour while the original report was being drafted.
The resurgence of Grokipedia indicates a renewed push by the team behind SpaceXAI to revive the ambitious AI-driven alternative to traditional reference sites, though the staggered rollout suggests that comprehensive updates are still being applied gradually across the platform.
Even with the recent push, not every page has received a fresh scan. When navigating from Obama's profile to the page for Honolulu, the last recorded fact-check was found to have taken place seven months prior, indicating that the automated or manual review process has not yet covered the entirety of the database.
During a hands-on test of the platform, the reporter suggested a modification to the Gears of War: E-Day page to incorporate the game's official October 6th release date, a change that Grokipedia promptly accepted and published. An additional request to generate a brand new article covering Meta's Muse chatbot was successfully submitted and currently holds an In Review status.

SpaceXAI did not immediately respond to requests for official commentary regarding the updates. Meanwhile, Elon Musk has refrained from posting publicly on X about Grokipedia since February, following his bold claim from roughly a year prior that the platform would represent a massive improvement over Wikipedia. On a related note, Benji Taylor, head of design at X and SpaceXAI, recently shared on social media that the team has not abandoned the project and promised an improved v0.2 experience, despite that version having technically debuted back in November.
