On September 30, 2026, Ms. Supamas Isarabhakdi, Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office overseeing the Office of the Consumer Protection Board (OCPB), announced the implementation of urgent measures to alleviate hardships for citizens affected by severe flooding, directing the agency to collaborate with government units and business networks to execute nine specific relief actions.
These measures encompass a wide range of assistances, from arranging tow truck services and providing complimentary vehicle damage assessments to reducing expenses on spare parts and labor, coordinating debt relief solutions, and supporting the repair of damaged homes and electrical appliances, while strictly monitoring against unfair service fees or exploitative conditions during the crisis.

Ms. Supamas explained that individuals dealing with flood-damaged vehicles face steep financial burdens involving transportation costs, repair bills, and ongoing auto loan obligations, compounded by structural damages to their residences. Consequently, prompt coordination with relevant sectors including repair garages, automobile manufacturers, and business operators is vital to mitigate these expenses and protect citizens from opportunistic exploitation.

Regarding vehicle logistics, the OCPB has coordinated with the Royal Thai Police to allow citizens to request tow truck assistance via the 191 emergency hotline. Furthermore, cooperation has been established with the Thai Tow Truck Association, which committed to charging appropriate cost-based service fees without inflating prices during the disaster period.
This coordinated relief framework reflects the government's effort to rapidly integrate public and private sector resources during emergencies. By engaging professional associations and automotive enterprises directly, the initiative aims to bypass bureaucratic hurdles and deliver tangible assistance straight to affected communities more efficiently.
For vehicle restoration, the OCPB has partnered with the Central Garage Association of Insurance to provide free repair estimations alongside discounts on genuine spare parts. At the same time, multiple automotive manufacturers have established specialized programs to reduce labor and parts costs for customers whose vehicles suffered flood damage.
