The flood crisis in Kanchanaburi province has prompted intensive intervention from government officials. On October 1, 2026, Mr. Akaranan Kannakitinan, Deputy Minister of Education and Member of Parliament for Kanchanaburi Constituency 1 under the Pheu Thai Party, conducted an on-site inspection to monitor the unfolding situation and evaluate the severe damages sustained by the local agricultural sector.
Field assessments revealed that local farmers are enduring heavy blows, with extensive crop cultivation areas submerged and livestock breeders struggling to secure adequate feed supplies. These compounding challenges have inflated operational costs while cutting off household income during a period when normal livelihoods remain completely suspended.

Addressing the press during his visit, Mr. Akaranan emphasized that disaster relief efforts must extend beyond basic provisions such as drinking water, medical supplies, and dry rations. He stressed that authorities must prioritize the economic survival and daily sustenance of agricultural workers.
"Today, we are not only looking at flooded houses, but we must also look at the livelihoods and occupations of our people, especially affected farmers. When floods happen, livestock still need to eat, and farmers still need to care for these animals. We must step in to help at this point."

To mitigate these burdens, the Deputy Minister confirmed that he has proactively reached out to the Department of Livestock Development under the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives to expedite the delivery of emergency animal feed to affected communities as quickly as possible.
Providing emergency animal feed during major flooding is a critical frontline intervention. When pastures are inundated, livestock farmers often face acute feed shortages that risk herd mortality or forced sell-offs at distressed prices. Direct government logistical support helps preserve agricultural assets, shielding farmers from deeper indebtedness and accelerating post-disaster recovery.
Beyond immediate relief operations, local administrative teams are formulating comprehensive rehabilitation blueprints to restore infrastructure and arable land immediately after floodwaters recede in Kanchanaburi, ensuring that affected families can resume agricultural production swiftly.
