Counter-terrorism police in the UK have charged 28-year-old Joshua Kerry from Rotherham with one count of preparing terrorist acts on Friday. The charges relate to activities allegedly conducted between May 2024 and July 2026. Previously in July, Kerry was charged with the murder of 78-year-old Ann Widdecombe, a former Conservative minister and Reform UK spokeswoman who was found dead at her home in Haytor, Devon, on Thursday, July 9.
Vicki Evans, Counter Terrorism Policing Deputy Assistant Commissioner, stated that Friday's charge was the result of a hugely intensive and complex investigation involving a dedicated team of detectives, analysts, and forensic experts.
The case has raised serious questions regarding the security of individuals in public life. Reform UK sources commented on the matter concerning a £5m gift from a billionaire donor used for personal security, while Farage faces a parliamentary standards watchdog probe.
