Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott has officially withdrawn from the England national team squad ahead of their upcoming fixture against the Czech Republic. The 23-year-old sustained a quadriceps injury during his impressive full debut, which saw the Three Lions secure a resounding 7-0 victory over Croatia in the Nations League on Saturday, sidelining him for the next six to eight weeks.
Despite feeling discomfort prior to the match, Scott battled through the issue and completed 70 minutes in central midfield alongside Elliot Anderson before being substituted at Wembley.
England manager Thomas Tuchel was full of praise for the young midfielder following the dominant win over Croatia, stating:
"He plays with so much confidence. He is so active, so confident. The work rate off the ball. He is just the complete package. He gave us a lot of mobility and a lot of variety and work rate in the centre of the pitch."

Alongside Scott, Arsenal defender Ezri Konsa has also been ruled out of the fixture as a precautionary measure. The 28-year-old will return to the reigning Premier League champions for treatment on his respective injury.
Scott's injury arrives at a critical juncture for Bournemouth, who face a daunting run of nine games between 10 October and 8 November across domestic and European competitions. Manager Marco Rose will need to navigate fixtures against Sturm Graz, AC Milan, Sparta Prague in the Europa League, and Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup without key personnel, compounding challenges for a side currently sitting 17th in the Premier League table without a win in their opening five matches.
The Cherries currently occupy 17th place in the Premier League table after drawing three and losing two of their opening five matches, prior to their upcoming trip to face Chelsea on Saturday. Scott joins French forward Eli Junior Kroupi on the injury list, with the 20-year-old remaining unavailable due to a foot problem sustained during pre-season.
