Nulek Kaka Opens Up About Near-Death Experience, ICU Battle with Dengue Fever, and Saying Goodbye to Husband and Son

Well-known Thai actress Nulek Kaka has opened up in a video clip after being away from the entertainment industry for months. The true reason behind her absence was a brush with death after contracting a critical case of dengue fever, which required her to be treated in a hospital's intensive care unit (ICU) for over 10 full days.

Recounting how the infection began, she believes she was bitten by an Aedes mosquito while on a merit-making trip to Songkhla province before returning to Bangkok, where she developed a soaring fever reaching 40 degrees Celsius. She suffered from severe chills and intense muscle cramps that became unbearable. Even though she tried taking paracetamol to relieve the symptoms, her fever refused to subside. She decided to see a doctor for testing, which revealed she had dengue fever.

Her condition deteriorated rapidly on the 7th and 8th days when she began vomiting fresh blood. The medical team rushed her to the ICU immediately after discovering internal bleeding, which doctors considered a high 50-50 risk of death. During that time, she admitted she was extremely terrified, to the point where she had to type out messages to distribute her assets and inheritance to her husband and 7-year-old son out of fear that she might never see her family again.
