Fresh details regarding Google's upcoming fitness tracker, the Fitbit Edge, have emerged following a series of leaked images. Based on information shared by Dealabs, potential pricing and hardware specifications for the upcoming wearable have been brought to light, giving enthusiasts a clearer picture of what to expect.
The Fitbit Edge is reported to carry a price tag of €179 in Europe and £159 in the UK. Drawing a comparison to the screen-free Fitbit Air priced at €99 or £85 in those respective regions, 9to5Google estimates that the new Edge model will retail for approximately $180 in the United States.
Under the hood, the device is equipped with a 1.34-inch always-on OLED touchscreen and runs on Fitbit OS with Google Play accessibility. It pairs seamlessly with both Android and iOS smartphones via Bluetooth, packing a comprehensive array of sensors including built-in GPS, an accelerometer, a barometer, an altimeter, and a gyroscope.

Health monitoring features are robust, incorporating optical sensors for heart rate tracking and blood oxygen saturation (SpO2), alongside electrical sensors capable of capturing electrocardiograms (ECGs). The tracker is designed to monitor for indicators of serious medical conditions such as atrial fibrillation and irregular heart rhythms, issuing alerts when anomalies are detected.
Fitness tracking capabilities cover steps, distance, calories, skin temperature, sleep metrics, cardiac load, and menstrual cycles. It also monitors activities like running, swimming, and golfing across more than 40 different exercise types, enhanced by real-time coaching and personalized fitness programs powered by Google Gemini.
Google's continued refinement of the Fitbit lineup highlights a strategic push to integrate advanced AI coaching directly onto the wrist. By combining medical-grade sensors like ECG capabilities with generative AI insights from Gemini, Google is positioning its fitness trackers as proactive health companions rather than simple step counters.
Powering the device is a user-replaceable lithium-ion battery rated for up to seven days of normal usage, though enabling the always-on display will reduce battery longevity to roughly two days. The hardware boasts an IP68 water-resistance rating and is anticipated to debut in four distinct color combinations matching the Pixel Watch 5 lineup: obsidian and matte black, olive and satin pyrite, canyon and champagne gold, and fog and polished silver.
