- Create and run AI agents directly from the web browser without using a terminal
- Choose between Public (real fork) or Private (generated copy) repository setups
- App is installed strictly on your chosen repository with specific permission scopes
- Supports nine harnesses including Claude Code, Grok, Codex, and OpenRouter
Aeon Connect is now live at www.aeon.fun/connect, allowing users to sign in with GitHub, connect a model, and pick skills entirely from the browser. The agent runs on GitHub Actions just a few minutes after setup without requiring a local clone or terminal.
Previously, getting started required Node.js 20+, the GitHub CLI, a repository clone, and running ./aeon for a localhost dashboard. This technical barrier was cited as a major hurdle for non-developer users looking to adopt the platform.

Aeon Connect removes this setup wall while keeping the core architecture intact. The agent still resides in your GitHub repository, executes on your own GitHub Actions, and stores its memory within your git history while the platform merely hosts the control dashboard.
Moving the configuration phase to a web interface represents a crucial shift in developer tooling, drastically lowering the barrier to entry for workflow automation while preserving code ownership and security standards through GitHub infrastructure.
Users can select between two repository configurations upon creation:
- Public: A real fork of aeonfun/aeon utilizing free GitHub Actions minutes and upstream updates, though run logs and memory remain public.
- Private: A generated copy from aeonfun/aeon since GitHub does not permit private forks, keeping logs private and utilizing your own Actions minutes (2,000 free per month).
Regarding security, the app installs exclusively on your selected repository and requests explicit permissions for Actions, Contents, Secrets, Variables, Workflows, Metadata, and optional Administration. Sensitive keys are stored securely within your repository's encrypted GitHub secrets.
"A failed or timed-out run on HQ now has a Why? toggle. It reads the run log and names the cause in plain words: a rejected key, a saved login that expired, a rate limit, a model that isn't available, or a run that hit its time limit."

Additionally, failed or timed-out runs now feature a Why? toggle that analyzes run logs and translates errors into plain English, such as expired logins or rate limits, and suggests one-click corrective actions.
Aeon Connect and its framework are free under the MIT license, supporting nine harnesses including Claude Code, Grok, Codex, Pi, Vibe, Kimi, fx, Cursor, and Hermes via subscriptions, API keys, or OpenRouter credits.
