At 10:30 AM on October 9, 2026, at Government House, Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul officially welcomed Prime Minister Kay Rala Xanana Gusmao of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste. The Timor-Leste leader is visiting Thailand as an official guest of the government, marking a significant milestone as his first official visit to the country in 13 years following Timor-Leste's integration into ASEAN.
The official welcoming ceremony commenced on the lawn in front of the Thai Ku Fah Building, where the Thai Prime Minister led the visiting leader in inspecting the military honor guard. Following the ceremony, both leaders moved inside the Thai Ku Fah Building to take a commemorative photograph at the central hall stairway. They also signed the official guest book and exchanged commemorative gifts provided by both delegations to symbolize enduring diplomatic ties.

Following the welcoming events, the two prime ministers proceeded to the Green Room inside Government House for a full-delegation bilateral meeting aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation and mutual interests. Afterwards, both leaders witnessed the signing ceremony and the exchange of Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs), followed by a joint press conference held at the central hall of the Thai Ku Fah Building.
