Naresuan Task Force Commander Inspects Mae Sot Border

On July 30, 2026, Major General Prasan Henprasert, Commander of the Naresuan Task Force, led a delegation of senior officials to inspect the security situation along the Thai-Myanmar border in Mae Sot District, Tak Province, to closely monitor ongoing armed conflicts.
Accompanying the commander were Colonel Narongchai Charoenchai, Deputy Commander of the Naresuan Task Force; Colonel Krisana Namkaew, Deputy Commander of the Ratchamanu Task Force; Colonel Suphakorn Phuchan, Commander of Ranger Regiment Task Force 35; and personnel from Border Patrol Police Company 346.

The delegation traveled to the Seksan military base (Infantry Company 1411) and the Ban Mae Kon Ken checkpoint in Maha Wan Subdistrict, Mae Sot District. There, they received briefings on the ongoing fighting between Myanmar's military and ethnic resistance forces occurring directly across the border from Ban Mae Kon Ken, alongside reports on recent operational outcomes.
High-level military inspections in strategic border districts like Mae Sot highlight the proactive approach required to manage spillover risks from neighboring conflicts. Border skirmishes frequently raise security concerns for Thai residents living near the frontier, making robust contingency planning and local community coordination vital for civilian protection and border stability.
During the visit, Maj. Gen. Prasan also distributed care packages to troops stationed in the area, aiming to boost the morale of personnel tasked with safeguarding national sovereignty and maintaining public security.
Concluding the inspection, the Naresuan Task Force commander instructed all units to remain vigilant, continuously monitor developments, maintain readiness under established contingency plans, and strengthen cooperation with security agencies and community leaders to protect the lives and properties of border residents to the fullest extent.
