- Futurewave reveals Arc, a screenless Argentium silver bracelet with no notifications.
- Delivers discreet wrist pulses when screen time exceeds established user limits.
- Features an open torc jewelry silhouette inspired by ancient European Iron Age items.
- Currently a conceptual prototype as of September 2026 with no release date.
As wearable tech gadgets crowd wrists with endless screens and notifications, Belgian design studio Futurewave has taken a radically quiet approach. The studio introduced a connected object designed to help users disconnect, featuring no display, no notifications, and zero data tracking to obsess over.
Dubbed Arc, the sculptural silver bracelet serves as a discreet reminder to look away from smartphones. Rather than adding another glowing screen to daily life, it delivers a gentle vibration through its metal structure whenever phone use crosses a pre-set threshold. This concept rethinks wearable technology by exploring how to do less rather than more.
The system operates simply through a phone portal where users select apps and set limits, such as 30 minutes of continuous viewing. Once reached, the bracelet transmits a gentle pulse to the wrist. If usage continues, a second identical pulse follows before going silent. According to Futurewave, the device keeps no usage history and requires neither accounts nor subscriptions.

Beyond its digital utility, Arc functions purely as jewelry. Its silhouette draws from ancient European Iron Age torcs while incorporating rounded anatomical volumes inspired by rib cages, wishbones, hydroids, and seed pods. The continuous sculptural form wraps around the wrist without clasps, hinges, or visible fasteners, designed by Hugo Simon, Pierre Heuson, Joachim Froment, and Futurewave.

Inside the metal architecture, a piezoelectric element produces tactile signals, paired with an ONiO zero low-power microcontroller using Bluetooth Low Energy, a flexible circuit board, a 25 mAh curved battery, and energy harvesting circuitry. Completely hidden from view, the device relies strictly on touch rather than lights or sounds.
Futurewave's concept taps into the growing digital wellbeing movement, addressing notification fatigue by trading screens for tactile interaction. By crafting the device from premium Argentium silver, the project ensures that even if the internal electronics eventually become obsolete, the physical artifact retains its intrinsic value as a piece of fine jewelry.
Revealed in September 2026, Arc remains in the conceptual and prototyping phase following 3D-printed studies, with no official production or launch date announced yet.
