The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has officially unveiled the third edition of ASEAN India+ Shoppers in Thailand 2026, extending participation across Southeast Asia and South Asia. Running from September through November under the theme "MORE VALUE. MORE THAILAND.," the campaign offers shopping, dining, accommodation, and lifestyle privileges nationwide to stimulate visitor spending and reinforce the country's status as a premier regional shopping hub.
Ms. Parichat Boonclai, TAT Deputy Governor for Marketing Communications, stated that ASEAN and South Asia represent vital markets characterized by strong travel connectivity and high demand for Thai goods. Guided by a Value over Volume approach, TAT collaborates with various partners to elevate tourist expenditure and distribute income more broadly among local SMEs and Thai brands.
More than 50 retail and lifestyle partners have joined the initiative, including King Power International, Central and Robinson department stores, The Mall Group, One Bangkok, MBK, Siam Piwat, and Asiatique The Riverfront. These partners provide discounts, vouchers, gifts, and exclusive privileges valued between 500 and 2,000 Baht to encourage spending in Bangkok and destinations across the country.

On-ground staff are also stationed at airports, Pratunam, and major shopping districts to assist visitors with registration and redemption processes.
"ASEAN and South Asia are key markets for Thailand, with strong travel connections, demand for Thai products and potential for repeat visits."
Ms. Parichat Boonclai, TAT Deputy Governor for Marketing Communications
Building on previous editions in 2024 and 2025 that yielded over 81 million Baht in tourism revenue, the 2026 campaign expands its geographic focus beyond traditional ASEAN and Indian markets to include travelers from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh. TAT aims to attract 30,000 participating tourists, generate at least 10 million campaign exposures, and secure no less than 244 million Baht in tourism receipts.
Expanding the campaign to encompass additional South Asian nations highlights a targeted strategy to capture high-spending segments interested in lifestyle and retail tourism. According to 2025 tourist behavior data, 91.05% of international visitors engaged in shopping during their trips, purchasing popular items such as apparel, souvenirs, Thai food products, cosmetics, and fragrances.
TAT forecasts 33 million international arrivals and 2.65 trillion Baht in total tourism revenue by the end of 2026. Between January 1 and September 30, Thailand welcomed 23.4 million international visitors alongside 153.96 million domestic trips, generating approximately 2.04 trillion Baht, with this shopping campaign serving as a key driver to achieve year-end projections.
