Following the recent announcement by the National Anti-Corruption Commission regarding the ongoing inspection of declared assets belonging to MP Suchada Sangthanyaprasert of the Bhumjaithai Party and her Australian husband, Mr. Taiyang Sang, public attention has intensified. The NACC previously noted discrepancies including assets disproportionate to stated income, filing irregularities, potential false declarations, and omissions of facts. Furthermore, the MP's foreign spouse was legally required to submit asset disclosures, yet his occupation was omitted from the submitted paperwork.
On October 16, MP Suchada Sangthanyaprasert stepped forward to address public concerns regarding allegations connecting her husband to online gambling networks. Speaking on the sidelines of a meeting to prepare for the traditional Krathup merit-making festival in Nong Bua Daeng district, Chaiyaphum province, she firmly rejected all allegations directed at her and her family.
Asset declarations enforced by the NACC serve as a vital mechanism for political transparency in Thailand. Cases involving foreign spouses often introduce complexities regarding cross-border financial tracking, making public clarification crucial for politicians aiming to maintain constituent trust amidst political and media scrutiny.

During her statement, Suchada directly refuted claims regarding online gambling websites, noting that public accusations made it sound as though she personally owned the 888 gambling platform. She clarified that she had no connection to it whatsoever and that her husband's investments were limited to a 1 percent shareholding in a legally established foreign entity, adding that she was uncertain whether any financial dividends had even been generated from those holdings.
"In terms of the website, people talk as if I am the owner of gambling website 888. It is not true at all, not even a bit. I do not own any gambling website. The shares invested are in a legally operating country, just 1%. I don't even know if I've received any money from these shares."

Despite mounting pressure and claims from critics that her husband's stock holdings could constitute a false asset declaration under Thai law, Suchada maintained her composure. On the same day, she published a video clip on social media accompanied by a simple caption reading "Thank you," showing scenes from her visit to Chaiyaphum where local residents welcomed her warmly, placed floral garlands around her neck, and embraced her to offer moral support.

Shortly after her initial video post, Suchada shared a series of photographs revealing that local supporters had prepared custom-designed cutout signs featuring her portrait to greet her at the event. The visual display served as a clear gesture of encouragement from her constituents amid the ongoing political controversy. She kept the accompanying caption minimal, opting to publish the photo gallery with only a single white heart emoji.
