Daniel Dubois cemented his position as Britain's premier heavyweight by securing a dominant second-round stoppage against Fabio Wardley to retain his WBO title at a packed O2 Arena in London.
The 29-year-old champion wasted no time establishing control, flooring Wardley with a sharp straight right just 17 seconds into the opening round. Although the challenger managed to survive the first three minutes, he was overwhelmed by another relentless onslaught in the second round, leading his trainer Ben Davison to throw in the towel.

This victory marks a second consecutive stoppage win over Wardley for Dubois, following their thrilling 11-round encounter in Manchester five months prior where Dubois had risen from two knockdowns. Unlike their first meeting, the rematch was entirely one-sided from the opening bell, bringing the champion's professional record to 24 wins, including 23 by knockout, against three defeats.
A sell-out crowd of 19,000 spectators attended the event, which featured notable figures such as actor Paddy Considine, comedian Rob Beckett, Oasis musician Noel Gallagher, and darts world champion Luke Littler ringside.

Following the bout, IBF champion Filip Hrgovic entered the ring to discuss a potential rematch with Dubois, though promoter Frank Warren suggested Hrgovic should make his title defence in Croatia first. Meanwhile, Wardley faces a period of recovery after absorbing heavy punishment in back-to-back encounters.
The swift conclusion of the rematch highlights Dubois' tactical maturity and devastating punching power. By neutralizing Wardley's aggressive start early in the first round, the champion avoided the drama of their previous meeting and reaffirmed his status among the global heavyweight elite.
