DSI Confirms No Arrest Warrant for Phavut Over Forex Summon Delay
The Department of Special Investigation confirms no arrest warrant will be issued for Phavut Phongphitphanu after his team requested to postpone his Forex-related questioning to August 3.

At the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) located at the Government Complex on Chaeng Watthana Road, the special investigation team under the Technology and Information Crime Division has issued summonses for 22 suspects. Among them are Phavut Phongphitphanu, a party-list MP for the People's Party, and Ratthapoom "Film" Tokongsub, concerning unauthorized Forex trading operations.
The allegations include colluding in public borrowings amounting to public fraud, public fraud, operating securities and derivatives businesses without proper authorization, inputting false data into computer systems, and conspiring in money laundering activities involving two or more persons.
Ponzi schemes and unauthorized Forex trading cases are notoriously complex due to international financial routing and digital obfuscation. Involvement of high-profile political figures or celebrities invariably draws intense public scrutiny, requiring investigators to rigorously trace money trails and establish intent under stringent anti-money laundering laws.
Previously on July 24, Phavut authorized his personal lawyer, Phirat Trephet, to submit documents requesting a postponement of the first summons, citing short notice and scheduling conflicts, while asking to reschedule to August 3. However, investigators proceeded to issue a second summons ordering him to report and clarify the allegations on July 31 instead.

Later on July 31, 2026, at 10:50 AM, Phavut sent his authorized representative, Apichet Thabut, to submit another request to postpone the second summons from July 31 to August 3. In a telephone interview, Phavut explained that he was tied up attending a committee meeting and could not attend in person, but reaffirmed his commitment to meet investigators on August 3, stating he would consult his team regarding the exact timing and noting he had not yet seen the second summons document.
Regarding Ratthapoom Tokongsub, the well-known actor who received a first summons scheduled for August 3, 2026, at 10:00 AM, reports indicate that he has not yet instructed any lawyer or representative to coordinate a postponement request.
Meanwhile, sources within the Department of Special Investigation revealed regarding Phavut's case that investigators will not request an arrest warrant from the court. Because Phavut had previously appeared before investigators in person and proactively contacted them to notify his absence, his actions do not constitute a violation of the second summons, keeping the scheduled appointment intact for August 3.
