- AMLO freezes an extra 44 million baht linked to Chonnaphat gambling network
- Previous three asset seizures totaled approximately 182 million baht
- Temporary seizure order issued under the Anti-Money Laundering Act
The Anti-Money Laundering Office has continued its aggressive crackdown and investigation into a network involved in organizing electronic gambling platforms, centered around an individual named Chonnaphat and his associates. Prior to this latest action, authorities had already executed three separate asset seizures and freezes totaling roughly 182 million baht, which are currently awaiting civil court hearings under case black numbers Kor 16/2569, Kor 106/2569, and Kor 167/2569.
Following extended investigations, officials uncovered an additional tranche of illicit assets tied to the same illegal gambling syndicate. The newly targeted assets consist of cash and cryptocurrency holdings within digital asset trading accounts, valued at approximately 44 million baht, further escalating the total financial impact of the ongoing legal proceedings.

In response to the discovery, the Secretary-General of AMLO exercised statutory powers under Section 48, paragraph two of the Anti-Money Laundering Act B.E. 2542 (1999). On October 19, 2026, an official temporary seizure order designated as Kor Yor 243/2569 was issued to freeze the assets connected to the illicit activities while investigations proceed.
The application of Section 48 of the Anti-Money Laundering Act highlights how Thai regulatory bodies target modern financial crime. As criminal syndicates increasingly migrate illicit funds into cryptocurrencies and digital wallets to evade traditional banking controls, financial intelligence units must adapt by tracking digital asset exchange accounts to dismantle these networks effectively.
The temporary asset freezing order will remain in effect for a maximum duration of 90 days. Individuals whose assets have been seized, or any stakeholders with legitimate claims, wishing to petition for the revocation of the order must submit a formal written request along with supporting evidence to the Secretary-General of AMLO. This documentation must prove that the seized assets are unrelated to any illegal conduct within 30 days of receiving formal written notification.
