At 10:00 AM on October 21, 2026, at the Sappaya-Sapasathan Thai Parliament Bangkok, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, acting as the leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, Anutin Charnvirakul, addressed media inquiries regarding MP Suchada Sang Thantrakul of Chaiyaphum province and her husband, Mr. Taiyang Sang. The couple had previously visited the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) on October 20 to provide information regarding shares held in a gambling website.
When reporters asked whether he had a chance to discuss the matter directly with Ms. Suchada, Anutin Charnvirakul stated that he had not yet spoken with her and had only been following the updates through news reports. He stressed that reporting assets and liabilities is an individual obligation for every political officeholder, noting that it is a personal responsibility that others cannot interfere with or manage. He added that he, along with other cabinet ministers and members of parliament, must all comply with these exact declaration requirements.

Asset declaration regulations for political figures under Thai law are designed to maintain transparency and public accountability. When relatives or spouses of politicians face inquiries from investigative bodies like the DSI, it frequently draws public scrutiny. Political leaders often draw a clear line between personal legal matters of individual members and the official administrative duties of the political party itself, though maintaining public trust remains a critical priority.
Addressing further questions from reporters concerning whether there were attempts to connect the controversy to political party donations, Anutin Charnvirakul noted that the party designates a specific party treasurer to handle financial matters. When pressed to confirm whether everything was entirely normal without any irregularities, the Bhumjaithai leader firmly reiterated his confirmation that there was nothing abnormal.
Regarding whether this situation would negatively impact the overall public image and reputation of the Bhumjaithai Party, Anutin Charnvirakul provided further comments before concluding his interview session.
