On August 1, Mr. Pongsakorn Kwanmuang, spokesperson for the Democrat Party, published a statement on his Facebook page raising five pointed questions directed at the president and vice-president of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) council, urging them to investigate irregularities during council sessions.
Previously, Mr. Patarasak Mai-phranet, a BMA council member for Yannawa district from the People's Party, posted an explanation admitting that he rushed back into the meeting room and mistakenly pressed the wrong voting console. He maintained that no proxy card insertion or intentional substitute voting took place, while issuing an apology for the misunderstanding.
