During the House of Representatives meeting on September 9, 2026, at 11:00 PM, a procedural discussion arose when Mr. Parit Wacharasindhu, a party-list MP from the People's Party, stood up to question House Speaker Sophon Saram regarding the scheduled meeting to review the Election Commission's (EC) report.
Parit stated that earlier, the House Speaker exercised discretion to continue deliberations on the fiscal year 2027 budget bill on September 10, noting that the opposition raised no objections to this arrangement.
However, the opposition maintained that if the debate on the 2027 budget bill concludes on September 10, they intend to proceed with two crucial agendas on September 11, which include:
- The southern border provinces motion
- The Election Commission's report

In response to the discussion, the Second Deputy House Speaker instructed both the opposition whip and government whip to meet and discuss the scheduling details beforehand to ensure smooth proceedings in parliament.
