Following actions taken by Ms. Suksamonruay Wantaniyakul, Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office and Member of Parliament for Amnat Charoen province representing the Bhumjaithai Party, who filed a defamation lawsuit against Mr. Yingcheep Chaichanont, manager of the Internet Law Reform Dialogue (iLaw) project at the Mueang Amnat Charoen Police Station after being accused of involvement in Senate election manipulation, public attention has been strongly drawn to the unfolding situation.
Previously, Mr. Yingcheep expressed high confidence regarding the registration status of the two senators, stating that if he had to travel to Amnat Charoen to receive a police summons and fight the legal case, he intended to visit and support Senator Somphan's chicken noodle shop and Senator Daeng's pork stall in the local market, jokingly mentioning he would count the employees to verify if they legally qualified for their registered group.

However, on July 28, 2026, news reporters visited the location of Senator Somphan's bitter gourd chicken noodle and curry shop only to find it temporarily closed. Reporters then traveled to another family-run establishment belonging to Senator Somphan, where it was revealed that the noodle shop had to suspend operations because of a lack of available caretakers. Although an older sister was previously asked to help manage the store, both his sister and brother already ran their own separate businesses and could not oversee it fully, while Senator Somphan himself frequently traveled back and forth, forcing a temporary shutdown.
The verification of candidate qualifications in Senate selection Group 10, designated for large business owners with strict labor law requirements of more than 300 employees, highlights significant transparency issues in Thailand's political landscape. Subsequently, the reporting team headed to Vichitsin Market, where Senator Daeng's pork stall is located, but found that it was also temporarily closed. According to information gathered, the closure was due to health problems faced by Senator Daeng's husband, leaving no one available to manage the market stall.
