On September 25, 2026, Mr. Chatchan Chatedecho, a party-list Member of Parliament and deputy leader of the Democrat Party, serving as an advisor to the House Committee on Police, publicly called upon the Governor of Bangkok to instruct all district directors to urgently inspect buildings and establishments that have undergone structural modifications to operate KTVs, pubs, or other entertainment venues.
This call to action stems from serious concerns regarding structural integrity, particularly concerning buildings that may be operating without proper authorization or have undergone alterations inconsistent with building safety regulations. Mr. Chatchan stressed the necessity of identifying any unauthorized extensions or changes in building usage and enforcing legal measures against violators immediately.

"This matter must prioritize public safety above all else, because unauthorized building modifications can impact structural stability and lead to accidents or tragedies causing losses to the public," Mr. Chatchan stated, emphasizing the critical need for building safety compliance.
Inspecting modified buildings for commercial entertainment use is a recurring public safety challenge in major urban centers.
