The Thailand Board of Investment (BOI) has reaffirmed its support measures for promoted businesses impacted by recent floods, aiming to ease financial burdens and help enterprises resume operations as quickly as possible. The initiative focuses on tax relief for damaged machinery and raw materials.
Under the outlined framework, entrepreneurs are granted exemptions on import duties for replacement machinery along with permission to write off damaged equipment and materials without tax liabilities. Businesses are also permitted to increase production capacity using newly purchased replacement machinery under specific conditions.

Narit Therdsteerasukdi, Secretary General of the BOI, noted that the flood situation has affected numerous operators, prompting the agency to reduce tax burdens and facilitate swift business recovery. Eligible facilities must be located within officially declared disaster zones or emergency flood relief areas.

Operators must submit their requests along with evidence of damage within 6 months from the official end date of the flood event. The guidelines follow Board of Investment Announcement No. 15/2567 and BOI Office Announcement No. Por 7/2568, covering project amendments and machinery write-offs.
These relief measures are critical for maintaining business liquidity in Thailand following severe floods. By waiving machinery and material taxes, the BOI directly reduces the capital expenditure required for post-disaster rehabilitation.
