Regarding the formal rulings on the case files, the EC specified that 315 matters have been officially adjudicated. Additionally, 30 case files have been submitted to the court for legal proceedings, alongside 13 criminal cases initiated to ensure compliance with the electoral framework.
The thorough investigation and resolution of the 2024 Senate election disputes represent a complex and protracted administrative process, given the distinct multi-tier structure of that election cycle. The EC's gradual issuance of rulings and court referrals highlights ongoing efforts to ensure legal compliance and accountability. The eventual court verdicts on these files could establish important precedents for future political litigation in the country.
For the next steps, the EC office is preparing to submit an additional 3 case files to the main board's meeting agenda for formal review, aiming to finalize the remaining disputes in accordance with legal procedures.
