Donald Trump announced on Truth Social that a Board of Peace has successfully reached an agreement regarding the disarmament of Hamas, describing the development as a major milestone in executing the Trump 20-Point Plan through carefully structured phases.
Despite the high-profile announcement, it remained entirely unclear whether both Hamas and Israel were actually part of the agreement, and neither party has issued any official comments addressing the news so far.
"This is a major milestone in the implementation of the Trump 20-Point Plan. The agreement will be carried out in carefully structured phases. As disarmament is completed, Israeli forces will withdraw, and the International Stabilization Force will work with a new Palestinian police force to take responsibility for Gaza being safe for its residents and its neighbors."

Under the outlined framework, Israeli forces are scheduled to withdraw from Gaza as soon as the disarmament process is finished. Following that, an International Stabilization Force will collaborate with a newly formed Palestinian police force to secure the territory for its residents and neighboring areas.
Disarmament agreements in active conflict zones are notoriously difficult to enforce due to deep-seated distrust between opposing factions. Back in April, a senior Palestinian official confirmed to the BBC that Hamas had already rejected a disarmament proposal put forward by a key figure in Trump's peace team. Meanwhile, the newly discussed board's proposed charter has previously raised eyebrows for appearing designed to bypass or supplant UN functions.
The broader conflict erupted after Hamas-led attacks on Israel on October 7, 2023, which resulted in 1,200 deaths and 251 hostages taken. Israel responded with a massive military campaign that, according to the Hamas-run health ministry in Gaza, has killed more than 73,290 people, including 21,280 children.
