- Parit Wacharasindhu posted a video clip on Facebook exposing senate election rigging.
- The evidence details systemic cheating including hiring candidates, bribery, and pre-signed resignation letters.
- Conspirators reportedly exploited references to higher authorities to shield their corruption.
On August 13, Parit Wacharasindhu, list-MP and deputy leader of the People's Party, published a video clip on Facebook titled “Evidence Clip of Senate Rigging: Behaviors of Senate Rigging Conspirators Claiming to Act for Above.” The post aims to shed light on opaque practices during the recent Thai Senatorial elections that demand public scrutiny.
Parit outlined that previous evidence compiled by him and various sectors points toward deliberate planning to capture the Senate and undermine checks and balances. Key malpractices highlighted include:
- Deliberate strategies to seize the Senate and destroy checks and balances
- Hiring individuals to run and vote for network members from district to provincial levels
- Offering benefits to control voting according to dictated lists at the national level
- Money transfers from politicians to Election Commission officials during the election
- Intimidating witnesses to prevent them from disclosing information to the public

Furthermore, the scheme involved forcing candidates or senators to sign pre-signed resignation letters to strip them of their operational independence. Allegations were also raised regarding the negligence or complicity of management agencies such as the Election Commission and the Ministry of Interior, alongside stalling cases and forming committees to whitewash the accused before reaching the court.
The exposure of Senate rigging networks through concrete audio-visual evidence marks a critical milestone in challenging systemic corruption and informal influence within Thai political structures. When politicians bring forward such deep-level disclosures, it exerts pressure on judicial and electoral bodies to act transparently while exposing deep vulnerabilities in electoral rules that allow well-funded networks to manipulate legislative institutions from grassroots to national levels.
Another crucial behavior emphasized by Parit is the habit of individuals involved in the Senate rigging network to falsely invoke higher authorities or claim they are acting for "those above." Multiple witnesses have independently confirmed that conspirators used these claims to exploit public faith for personal gain and as a shield to protect their fraudulent activities.
"This clip, recorded during conversations among individuals within the Senate rigging network, will serve as evidence confirming that such behavior truly exists."
