At 10:00 AM on August 26, 2026, at the Parliament House in Bangkok, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul strongly addressed the recent leak of Department of Special Investigation (DSI) case files regarding the Senate selection process. The incident was previously acknowledged by Police Lieutenant General Rutthapol Naowarat, Minister of Justice.
The Prime Minister emphasized that existing laws clearly define penalties for removing official state documents. He noted that the matter is independent of him and depends entirely on how the responsible agencies pursue legal actions against the violators.

When questioned by reporters whether the sensitive information originated from a former cabinet minister, Anutin dismissed the speculation, stating he had no way of knowing. However, he confirmed that the Ministry of Justice and related bodies have initiated legal procedures, noting it is a standard obligation to avoid accusations of complicity in the cover-up.
"It shouldn't happen. These are official state documents. Whoever took them out, it won't be hard to find. We will take full legal action, nothing less."

The Thai premier explicitly described the intent behind the document leak as a deliberate attempt to undermine the government. He added that the ongoing police investigation will ultimately shed light on the exact mechanism of how confidential paperwork found its way outside official channels.
The leakage of confidential investigative dossiers from agencies like the DSI frequently triggers severe political turbulence in Thailand, as such files contain sensitive data that can easily be weaponized against political figures. The Prime Minister's prompt and aggressive stance demanding full prosecution serves as a strategic move to safeguard the administration's credibility and assert institutional control over internal security breaches.
